Valentine's Day is a day to show the woman in your life just how much you love her. Finding that perfect gift can be quite challenging and often a well planned date can have an equally romantic impact.
1. Dinner in the Dark. Take your date out for a stimulating dining experience. Dining in complete darkness, this dinner is designed to enhance the senses of touch, taste, hear and smell. This can be a real intimate experience for getting to know your girlfriend, or a new way connect with your wife.
2. Marble Picture. Locate a wedding picture of you and your wife that would look great in black on white. Have the image laser etched onto a black marble plaque with some endearing words to show her you are still in love with her.
3. Picnic Under the Stars. Having a candlelight picnic under the stars is a romantic way to spend the evening with your girlfriend. You can do this in your backyard, on your roof or at a local park. Sometimes planetarium's offer a Valentine's Day dinner event with availability to dine under the stars.
4. Loving Scrapbook. A homemade scrap book is a perfect way to remind your wife of all the loving moments cherished together. Include love letters, emails and pictures depicting your love for each other.
5. Window Box. Surprise your wife with a new window box for Valentine's Day. Have real flowers planted in the window boxes, or try filling them with handmade roses and Hershey kisses.
6. Staying at Home. Staying at home on Valentine's Day can be romantic with a little planning. Have a romantic dinner with wine and music on a blanket of rose petals in front of the fireplace. For dessert present a tray full of chocolates, strawberries and a personalized message in a bottle.
7. Visit Local Sites. Valentine's Day is an opportunity to embrace the local sites that you keep meaning to see. A local food and/or wine tasting tour are a romantic way to start the evening. There are many other opportunities to see the city that help set the mood for the night that could include carriage rides and helicopter tours.
8. Homemade Card. A homemade card is a perfect way to express your feelings for your loved one. A lot of thought and creativity in the design and words can go a long way to show your dedication while staying on a budget.
9. Scavenger Hunt. Thrill your wife this year with a scavenger hunt. Have various checkpoints where she will find loving moments and a clue to her next destination. Checkpoint ideas could include a stroll to where all of the family photos will remind her of the wonderful life you have created together or a dip in a pre-drawn hot bath with candles. Conclude the hunt on the deck where you will have a romantic dinner waiting to be shared.
